Hey Jeremie:

When I think of personal geography it is always important to me that I focus on the actual inner landscapes, and not focus quite so much on the maps. Maybe I am approaching it from a more intuitive place, rather than a 'cartographer' kind of focus...

For instance, I have been doing some work related to a year-long journey I've been on that involves issues of work (job), my own glass business, my body breaking down, the general issue of being responsible and feeling stuck with moving forward. So I've been journaling my dreams, looking at them, seeing what kind of imagery moves me. I then take that imagery into a hypnotherapy session or a mastermind business discussion, to see if there's a thread I can pull.

Now this is a tangled place! There's all kinds of geography here - stuff from my childhood and also current issues around money, time and physical challenges. Like I said, I've been working on understanding this place for a year.

And this last week - finally - a breakthrough! And it came in a discussion with my mastermind buddy (who also happens to be a therapist, lucky me). I ended up with a huge revelation about how the parts fit together, and what parts have actually been gone, and are newly returned. Shamanically, it was a soul retrieval. Internally, it was like finding my center.

So this week, I've been showing up tenderly with myself, seeing what's there, looking around inside, walking my own paths...and I don't seem to be able to 'map' in quite the way you discussed...I keep looking at the trees, or the meadows; feeling the feelings.

I think what I feel when you talk about the difference between the internal and external realities is that my life feels like being at the center of several big infinity-loops that intersect with my body, my mind, my emotions and my spirit. Each one has information, it informs me in different ways - bringing information from the different spheres of life into me, if that makes any sense.

Getting to write about it here helps me solidify what my understanding of it is and is becoming. I really have appreciated that you brought up this topic, since it's been (obviously) so alive for me - so much what I am working on. So thanks!

exploring,
Annah

Christina,

Can you pinpoint the actions you could take, no matter how small, that would move you back into balance?

What are you missing out on because you are out of balance? Are these missed things important enough to get back in balance for?

Those are the questions I have already set up to ask myself at the end of these four months. I know what I am missing, I know what I am missing is super important to me, and I have some key actions I will take to get back in balance.

I think by approaching this whole out of balance situation as my choice right from the start I feel empowered to be in control of the situation.

Only time will tell if it works that way,

Jeremie

Deciding to live IN nature today instead of someday was one of the biggest decisions my wife and I made.

It hasn't been easy all the time, and we still make a lot of sacrifices in some areas so that we can live where we do. Overall the decision has been 100% the best decision we have made. None of the sacrifices come close to how happy living where we do makes me.

I also remind myself that as tough as it has been everything is still moving forward in the right direction and soon we will live in our dream location and have all of the other parts in place as well.

I think you have touched on the challenge: balance with your empty minutes. I was clearly wasting most of them so wanted to fill some of my empty minutes up with productivity. Now I need to make sure I don't go too far and lose all of my empty minutes to being productive.

I think your use of empty minutes to meditate and just take a minutes break are great ideas and something to keep in mind.

Another interesting question. At least you are thinking about the question and the impact. So often it creeps up without me actually making a decision to put it out of balance. Once there, I don't know how it will be put back into balance and depression starts to settle.

I like this sentence" Living out of balance can trap you so you never return to balance." that's me.

I feel like I need to be IN nature too and just moved more into the city. But there is a tree covered running path and another path that runs along a canal with ducks. But to live in the mountains...that's where I want to be...someday.
